A NUMBER of road closures and parking restrictions have been announced for Galashiels on Thursday July 6 when King Charles and Queen Camilla visit the town.
The Royal Couple will visit the Great Tapestry of Scotland Visitors Centre in the High Street.

The following road will be closed to traffic between the hours of 10am and 12:30pm
Overhaugh Street, Galashiels from Bank Close to High Street. (The alternative route is via Bank Close to join Bank Street)
Bridge Street, Galashiels from Bridge Place to Sime Place and Sime Place, Galashiels from Bridge Street to High Street (There is no alternative route available for this closure)
Bank Street, Galashiels from Bank Street Brae to High Street and High Street, from Bank Street to Bridge Place (The alternative route for northbound traffic will be via the A7)
Parking will be prohibited on the following roads between the hours of 8am and 12:30pm
Sime Place, Galashiels from Bridge Street to High Street on both sides of the road.
High Street, Galashiels parking area at No.1 to No.7 – west side

High Street, Galashiels from Sime Place to No.46 – North side
The following car park will be closed from 6am to 6pm
Car Park, Netherdale – at junction of Tweed Road and Winston Road, Galashiels
