A MAJOR road is closed near a Borders village following a crash, according to traffic officials.
The A68 is shut in both directions near Oxton following the collision this afternoon, according to a Traffic Scotland spokesperson.
Emergency services are at the scene, the spokesperson added.
Motorists are told to take care on approach and to use another route, if possible.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.20pm, police received a report of a road crash involving two vehicles on the A68 near Carfraemill Roundabout.
"Emergency services are in attendance and one person has been taken to hospital in Edinburgh. Officers remain at the scene and the road is currently closed."
