POLICE in the Scottish Borders are appealing to members of the public to be aware of road safety when parking cars to spectate during common ridings.
During Kelso Civic Week officers say they have seen an increase in the number of cars attending and parking at various locations on ride out routes.

A spokesperson said: “This increases the risk of road accidents taking place - many of these roads are in national speed limit areas and aren’t suitable parking locations.

“In the interests of safety during the Yetholm Ride tomorrow, we ask spectators not to park at Linton in particular due to the nature of the road and anticipated traffic volume.”
