THE new Tweedbank Service Station is due to open on at 8am on Thursday August 10.

The station is run by the Motor Fuel Group (MFG) the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator and includes a Greggs, a Budgens and a Costa Coffee.

It will also have seven electric vehicle charging points.

And earlier this year Scottish Borders Licensing Board granted a premises licence to sell alcohol.

Andrew Hunter, on behalf of the applicant, St Albans-based Motor Fuel Limited, said: “Given the lack of petrol filling stations in the location it is seen as a welcome addition to the local area, both in terms of fuel and in terms of the convenience store.

The station will be open 24 hours a day 365 days per year. Fuel price not set yet but MFG says they will be competitive.
