BORDERS youngster Zach Bruce has signed his first professional contract with Hibernian at the age of 15.

The holding midfielder who came through the ranks at Coldstream Juniors was a member of the Hibs U16s from last season.

The aggressive midfielder’s best position is just in front of the back four, breaking up play and starting attacks from deep.

Zach is one of eight players who have committed their future to the Easter Road club including fellow Borderer and Peebles High School pupil Josh Landers.

The eight youngster will now prepare for the 2023/24 campaign with Darren McGregor’s U18 squad

Hibernian FC Academy Director, Gareth Evans commented: "Signing your first professional contract is a very proud day for any young footballer and one they will remember for the rest of their lives.

A Spokesperson for Coldstream FC said: “He is a Coldstream boy who came through the ranks at Coldstream Juniors FC.

“A true inspiration to all our young players in Coldstream, Zach has worked extremely hard over many years and been well supported by his family, driving up and down to training and games several times a week.
