THIS year’s Langlee Carnival Lad and Lass have been unveiled.

Daniel Malihs and Brooke Garmet, who are both aged 11, will take on the coveted roles.

The Carnival will be held on Saturday, September 9 at Langlee Community Centre from 11am to 3pm.

The day will feature the Galashiels Town Band, an adults and children’s tombola, inflatables, face painting, birds of prey, alpacas, crafts stall, ice cream, a raffle and live entertainment.

And of course the beloved fancy dress competition with classes for all ages. Judging starts at 10.15am.

The parade will leave the school at 10.30am and arrive at the community centre for the opening of the carnival at 11am.

Heidi Wilson, the lead volunteer, said: "We are looking forward to community carnival this year. The carnival is on its 18th year which is an amazing achievement.
