A GALASHIELS man discharged a pistol-style ball-bearing gun in the vicinity of the general public, Selkirk Sheriff Court has been told.
Thirty-three-year-old Niall Gray, of Talisman Avenue, pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour by making the weapon visible and then firing.
He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of the gun in Melrose Road, Galashiels, on March 12.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said: “These are extremely serious matters.”
He deferred sentence until October 2 for background reports “to see if there are any alternatives to custody, but the first thoughts of the court are that it will be custody”.
