A SELF-EMPLOYED mechanic who admitted being involved in two disturbances has been placed on supervision for 12 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Thirty-four-year-old Martin Scott, of Cessford Farm Cottages, near Kelso, was also fined a total of £180 for three breaches of his bail conditions.

The first incident happened in June 2020 when he was shouting and swearing, making racist remarks and threatening police officers with violence at Cessford Farm Cottages.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told that Scott had reacted angrily to armed response officers turning up at his partner’s home acting on intelligence that there may have been a firearm. No charges emerged from the search.

The second happened in June 2022 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court where he was acting in an aggressive manner, shouting and swearing and making abusive remarks.

After being sentenced Scott apologised for his behaviour at the previous court appearance.
