A 37-YEAR-OLD man has been found guilty of two sexual offences involving a child.
Daryl Bowie – who gave an address in Berwick-upon-Tweed – was convicted of two counts of lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour towards the youngster.
The offences happened in the Borders more than twenty years ago.
The jury at the High Court in Edinburgh found Bowie guilty by majority verdicts on both charges following a two-day trial.
He had previously been on bail since October 2021, but was remanded in custody for the preparation of background reports.
The case will recall for sentence at the High Court in Livingston on October 24.
Bowie's counsel will give a plea in mitigation on that date.
The conviction will also be reported to Scottish Ministers under the terms of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and also the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
