POLICE officers from the Scottish Borders Community Action Team have been addressing parking concerns in the region,

The SBCAT consists of 12 constables and two sergeants, and is funded by Scottish Borders Council in addition to the authorised strength of Police Scotland.

The dedicated team specifically target community issues such as anti-social behaviour and on-street parking.

Their work is co-ordinated by the Scottish Borders Safer Communities team, based at Scottish Borders Council HQ.

In September 2023 the SBCAT officers carried out patrols in Peebles, Kelso, Eyemouth, Duns, Selkirk, Galashiels, and Hawick.

A total of 112 parking tickets were issued and advice was given to drivers.
