PARTS of a major Borders road will close this week, officials have confirmed.
The project will see improvements made to the standard of road markings and studs on the A7.
The outstanding works are scheduled for a total of four nights, from Tuesday (October 31) to Friday.
A full closure from Langholm to Hawick will be in place from Tuesday to Thursday between 7.30pm and 6am.
Motorists will leave the A7 at Hawick and follow the A6088, B6357 and B7201 to Canonbie, adding around 20 minutes on to affected journeys.
Then on Friday between the same times the A7 will shut between Hawick and Selkirk.
Road-users will follow the A698, A68 and A699. This diversion will add approximately 13.7 miles and 20 minutes to affected journeys.
