ONE of the Borders' largest construction companies has submitted plans to extend its headquarters.
J S Crawford Properties (Berwick) Ltd, established in 1946, has been based at Priorwood House in Melrose – formerly Melrose Youth Hostel – since 2016.
Now plans have been submitted to Scottish Borders Council for the company to construct an extension to the north side of the East Wing which would accommodate three more offices.
A report with the application says: “To keep the profile of the proposed structure as low as possible, it is proposed to create a mono pitched roof that ties into the base of the existing roof.
“The walls would be timber framed with an external leaf finished with timber cladding and the structure constructed off a concrete floor slab.”
