DURHAM University will return to the Greenyards next year to take part in the 1883 Centenary Cup.

The students qualified following their remarkable victory in the pre-qualification tournament held during the 2023 Melrose Sevens weekend.

The team demonstrated exceptional skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the pre-qualification phase, earning their rightful place in the 2024 1883 Centenary Cup.

Captain of the winning Durham University rugby team Charlie Coe said: “We’re excited to return to the Greenyards and build upon last year’s success.

“The main competition will bring new challenges, but we’re confident that our talented group can overcome them and enjoy playing at one of the most prestigious events in the sevens calendar.”

It proved to be a successful month for the students who also won the Earlston Centenary Sevens.
