TWO motorists have been taken to hospital after a crash on a major Borders road, according to police.
The two-car incident took place on the A68 at the junction for Eildon, near Newtown St Boswells, on Tuesday evening.
Both drivers were taken to Borders General Hospital following the collision, say police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.20pm on Tuesday, January 9, to a report of a two-car crash on the A68 southbound at the junction for Eildon.
“Emergency services attended and both drivers were taken to Borders General Hospital to be checked over.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 9.50pm.”
