THE Scottish Borders is the 10th most expensive local authority area in Scotland to purchase a home, according to new data.
The UK Government this week shared the UK House Price Index Scotland for November 2023.
This covers the most up-to-date data regarding property prices across all of Scotland’s local authorities in the 12 months leading up to November.
The report states the average cost of a house in Scotland overall was £194,006, with the figure rising by 2.2 per cent when compared with the previous November.
Looking at the most affordable parts of the country to buy a home in November 2023, North Ayrshire tops the list, with the average house costing £127,628.
The City of Edinburgh was the most expensive area in Scotland to purchase a home in November 2023, with the average cost being £345,124.
In the top ten of most expensive local authority areas, the Scottish Borders comes in tenth place – at £202,019.
