BACKGROUND reports have been ordered at Selkirk Sheriff Court into a Galashiels man who admitted being in possession of a bladed article.
Thirty-five-year-old Daniel Hamilton pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Selkirk last year.
Not guilty pleas to charges of theft by shoplifting and attempting to defeat the ends of justice were accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until March 25 when Hamilton has other matters calling at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
The case against his co-accused, 36-year-old John Grierson from Galashiels - who had previously denied similar charges - was dropped after the court was told he had passed away since the last court hearing.
