A HGV driver who caused a crash in the Borders has been fined £500 and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Thirty-three-year-old Stephen Stirling pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to careless driving on the A699 Kelso to St Boswells road on the morning of February 7.
Drew Long, prosecuting, said as Stirling approached a bend he caused the lorry to cross the central white line and collide with an oncoming vehicle which caused a minor injury to the driver.
He had originally been charged with dangerous driving but a plea of guilty to driving without due care and attention was accepted by the Crown.
Sheriff Derek O'Carroll told the first offender it had been a "momentary lapse of attention".
