A 42-YEAR-OLD man who breached the terms of his Drug Treatment and Testing Order has been jailed for 14 months for his original offences.
Wayne Wilkes received a six-month sentence for 20 theft-by-shoplifting offences in the Hawick area.
He was also given another eight months prison for a “smash and grab” theft from an antiques shop in which jewellery worth £5,000 was stolen, although there was a full recovery.
Wilkes pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at Global Antiques in High Street, Hawick, during the early hours of September 18 last year.
Wilkes, who gave an address in Hawick, previously pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to a charge of theft by housebreaking.
