A FIRST offender who attempted to assault a police officer has been ordered to be of good behaviour for the next six months.
Twenty-eight-year-old Alistair Cox pleaded guilty to raising his fists towards the constable during the early morning incident at his home in Lovel Court, Hawick.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told the accused had made a 999 call to the police and officers arrived at his home at 3.30am.
His lawyer told the court: “He does not remember much about this. He has never been in trouble before.”
Sentence was deferred for six months for good behaviour.
