SENDING threatening messages to his former partner which contained threats of violence towards her new partner and her father cost Logan Ashworth a £400 fine.
The 22-year-old from Peebles pleaded guilty to sending the threatening messages to his ex on January 15.
Prosecutor Drew Long told Selkirk Sheriff Court the couple’s relationship ended in January 2023 and she blocked his calls.
But in January this year she unblocked his number.
However Ashworth started sending messages about their relationship and the messages became more abusive with threats to her saying she better reply to his messages and also threats towards her new boyfriend and father.
Defence lawyer Liam Alexander accepted the messages were “not pleasant”.
In addition to the fine Ashworth was ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
