BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Hawick man who admitted a series of shoplifting offences.
Scott Carter, 41, of Robson Court, appeared from custody on a warrant at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and admitted three theft by shoplifting charges.
He also pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Sentence was deferred until August 26 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty order assessment and Carter was granted bail.
