A SHORTAGE of collection vehicles has been blamed for failure to carry out recycling collections in a rural community in the Borders.
Scottish Borders Council has apologised for the cancellation of the scheduled collections in the Sourhope area, outside Kelso, on Tuesday (September 17).
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “We have rescheduled this collection route for Saturday, September 21, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Sourhope lies 15 miles south-east of Kelso near the head of the Bowmont Valley on the western slopes of the Cheviot.
