BACKGROUND reports have been ordered at Selkirk Sheriff Court into a 26-year-old man who admitted stealing a mobility scooter from outside a Galashiels shop.
Hughie Hutchison pleaded guilty on indictment to the theft from the Galashiels Mobility Centre in Bank Street on March 2.
On the same date he also pleaded guilty to stealing a pedal cycle from other premises in Bank Street, Galashiels, and being in possession of cannabis.
Hutchison, who gave an address in Eyemouth, also admitted maliciously striking and breaking a window at a property in Scott Street, Galashiels, on March 24.
Sentence has been deferred until October 28.
