A GALASHIELS man who was involved in a bust-up with police after stealing a number of items from a house has been ordered to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Thirty-year-old Gareth Murray pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of foodstuffs and alcohol from the property in Broom Drive, Galashiels, on April 18.
On the journey to Hawick Police Station in a police van he was shouting and swearing, uttering threats to kill and striking his head on the cage of the van.
