A DRUG-DRIVER has been banned from the road for three years at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Fifty-three-year-old Darren Charlton, of Dickson Drive, Newtown St Boswells, pleaded guilty to the offence on January 13.
The court heard his vehicle was stopped on the B6359 road near his home village and officers could smell cannabis.
Defence lawyer Ed Hulme said his client was marginally over the limit.
Sheriff Peter Paterson noted Charlton had a previous conviction for a similar offence so imposed the minimum disqualification period of three years with a £300 fine and a £20 victim surcharge.
