LEGAL eagles in the Borders aim to soar higher than ever before after agreeing to an combining the practices.
Long established legal firms, Douglas Gilmour & Son in Selkirk and Pike & Chapman in Galashiels are to trade as Gilmour Pike Chapman.
The joint firms have enjoyed a history across 150 years, and now they have decided to build on this presence by formally combining as a limited company.
In doing so, they will also create one trading name, and from April 1, 2026, the firm will officially become Gilmour Pike Chapman Limited.

The practices will be led by joint directors Stephanie Robertson and Iain Burke, the latter of whom will join in April.
Ms Robertson said: “Our practices have been serving many of the same families for generations and our reputation is built on the strong relationships that we forge with our clients.
“Many may not be aware that Douglas Gilmour & Son and Pike & Chapman have been one combined partnership for many years and as a long-standing presence in each town, this arrangement has worked well.
“My former business partner, William Windram, was a partner of the firm for over 40 years and following his retirement in September 2024, he has continued as a consultant.
“I have been very fortunate to be in partnership with William for over 10 years and I am sure he will be looking forward to enjoying his well-deserved retirement from the firm at the end of March 2026.

“By bringing the two offices under one exciting new brand, I believe that Gilmour Pike Chapman can become an even stronger legal presence in the Scottish Borders and beyond, bringing with it an increased number of shared benefits for our clients.

The practice will continue to operate from the same office locations but under this new brand identity.
Mr Burke brings with him more than 30 years of experience in working across the Borders and beyond.
