A WRITER from the Borders has raised more than £250 for charity at her book launch.
Maura Kennedy Fair hosted the charity book launch of her novel, The Guest Who Changed Everything on Friday, May 29.
This psychological thriller, set locally in the Borders and Northumberland, served as the backdrop for the event, hosted at Wilson Barrie Hair in Melrose.
Ms Kennedy Fair, who started writing during her breast cancer treatment, has a heartfelt connection with the NHS and its staff.
Celebrating this link, she has donated the funds to Border Cancer Services, part of the NHS Borders Health Charity.
She said: "I would not be here today, were it not for the wonderful doctors and nurses of the Borders General Hospital and the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, who treated me when I had breast cancer.
"Thank you all. I am forever in your debt."
She also extended her thanks to Wilson Barrie Hair in Melrose for providing the venue and to all attendees for their support.
