A MAN has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences following a single-vehicle crash in the Borders.

Road policing officers launched an appeal for information after a silver Renault Clio travelling southbound on the A7 at Falahill entered the northbound carriageway.

It then collided with street furniture, signs and a telegraph pole.

The incident happened at around 8.50am on Sunday (June 14).

Emergency services attended and the 22-year-old male driver was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and also arrested in connection with the incident.

The road remains closed to allow for repair of the telegraph pole.

Constable Danny Bruce said: “It’s vital we establish the full circumstances of this crash.

“I’d like to ask for the public’s help. Did you see what happened? Did you see the silver Clio prior to the crash?

“Do you have dash-cam footage from the A7 at the time which has captured anything significant?

“If you do, please contact police.”

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0994 of June 14.
