THREE new appointments have been made to the board of South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE).
Julia Mulloy, Stuart McCallum, and Andrew Smith have been named to the board and will serve four-year terms starting on August 31.
Russel Griggs, chair of SOSE, said: "I am delighted to welcome Julia, Stuart and Andrew to the South of Scotland Enterprise board.
"Each brings a wealth of experience, insight and leadership from different sectors, but all share a strong commitment to helping communities and businesses thrive.
"The breadth of expertise they bring – from community development and governance to finance, investment and Net Zero innovation – will further strengthen our board as we support sustainable economic growth across the South."
Ms Mulloy has spent 40 years working in housing, regeneration, and community development.
She most recently served as chief executive of Scottish Borders Housing Association until her retirement in May 2026.
Ms Mulloy said: "I’m delighted to be joining the board of South of Scotland Enterprise at a time of change and real opportunity for the region.
"Having lived in the South of Scotland for over two decades and worked here for 17 years, I have seen how much can be achieved when people and organisations share their experience, skills and commitment to the place we call home.
"SOSE has an important role in growing the economy, strengthening our communities and shaping the next chapter for the South in a way that reflects its character, needs and potential.
"It is a privilege to be part of it."
Mr McCallum brings more than 30 years of experience in professional services, banking, and board governance.
He was a consulting partner at RSM UK and held senior roles at Clydesdale Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mr McCallum said: "The South has a distinct economy built on family businesses, food and drink, farming and tourism, and I know that world well from 30 years advising similarly sized companies.
"I'm looking forward to putting that experience, along with my background in financial governance, to work for the board."
Mr Smith is an investment and commercialisation specialist with more than 40 years’ experience spanning law, renewable energy, clean technology and innovation finance.
He is director of Greenbackers Investment Capital and founder of Deja Blue Consulting.
Mr Smith said: "I am looking forward to listening, learning and helping those leading SOSE to deliver the best support for the businesses and communities of the South of Scotland."
