THERE'S a first time for everything, especially for a renowned artist who will display her collection of works in Scotland for the first time.

Over 60 pieces of art will be available to view in Thirlestane Castle's State Drawing Room, some of which were previously commissioned by fashion designer, Ralph Lauren.

Annabel Pope, best known for her paintings of African wildlife, will showcase her recent work, 'Capturing the Wild', at the end of September.

She said: "It is great pleasure, and privilege, to be putting on my first solo show in Scotland in such a wonderful location and I’m very grateful to the Maitland-Carew family whose innovative idea it was to hang my work in the State Drawing Room."

The Norfolk-born artist has spent much of her career travelling far and wide, from India to South America, and documented each visit with a piece dedicated to the regional wildlife.

The three day exhibition of wild scenes will be offset by the classic surroundings of Thirlestane Castle, and comes the chance to sample some limited edition James Eadie Scotch whisky courtesy of Annabel's husband Rupert, the acting CEO of Eadie whisky.

The exhibition will be open 10am to 4pm on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of September, and will be open 10am to 1pm on Saturday 28th.
