AFTER being terrifyingly popular last year, Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum is bringing its Dead Borders spooktacular back from the grave.

Throughout this month the museum will host events reminding guests of the castle's bloody past and introducing you to a few ghostly figures from the past.

The creepy celebrations begin on Friday, October 11 with a session on the 'Science of the Paranormal', talking all things phantom detection and you even get the chance to test out some equipment used to hunt ghosts in Jedburgh Castle Jail. This event is only open to over 16s only and tickets cost £25.

Fear not, there are family friendly events boo.

On October 12 a Halloween treasure hunt will have children search for clues to crack a code and win a prize.

You can also behead to Mary Queen of Scots House to hear some spooky stories from 6.00pm on October 17. The treasure hunt will cost £2.50 and the eerie storytelling will be £3 for tickets.

And, it wouldn't be a proper ghoulish Halloween without a ghost walk. Prepare for scares and screams as you venture round the castle grounds at night meeting frightening figures as you go. There are three walk options to choose from, 6.00pm, 7.00pm or 8.00pm with tickets costing £6 for adults and £4 for children.

As October 31 claws its way nearer, enjoy the final event of Jedburgh Castle's haunting season - the Family Activity Day. There's an activity trail, pumpkin carving, face painting, craft making and a slimy lucky dip. Open from 11.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday, October 27, tickets cost £7.50 per child.
