TRANSPORT bosses at Scottish Borders Council have been forced to add a second electric car charger near the Galashiels Transport Interchange
Environmentally-friendly motorists had been unable to access the original power point at Stirling Street due to the cable being too short.
One lady contacted the Border Telegraph.
She said: "It was physically impossible for the charger to reach my car.
"I haven't had this kind of problem anywhere else."
Following several complaints to the local authority over the past few weeks a secondary point with a longer cable has now been added.
A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson said: βIt was discovered that one model of electric vehicle had difficulty accessing the charger in Stirling Street Car Park, so a second electric charging bay has been added this week.β
