POLICE are to carry out extra patrols across a Borders village after concerns were raised over the behaviour of drivers in the area.

Members of the public alerted Police Scotland to the dangerous driving by motorists around Tweedbank Industrial Estate while the region was covered in a blanket of snow last week.

To combat the issue, the number of high visibility patrols in the area will be increased and officers say that action will be taken action against anyone found to be driving in a manner which puts themselves or others at risk.

Anyone with information about criminality on the roads are urged to contact the police on 101 or make a report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Locals are reminded to always dial 999 when a crime is in progress or there is a risk to life.
