THE Borders is set to host its first ever family friendly Drag shows thanks to two TV Drag stars and a local events company.

Baga Chipz and The Vivienne, two finalists from the UK series of RuPaul's Drag Race, will return to the Borders after their successful performances in Innerleithen earlier this month, to perform to a slightly different audience.

The two family friendly shows have been organised by On The Brinck Promotions, who promise an afternoon parents and children alike will never forget.

Phil Walker, one of the organisers told us: "On The Brinck Promotions are constantly being asked about their admittance policy regarding children.

"There are hundreds of younger people, who are keen fans of the art form and RuPaul’s television programmes.

"The evening shows tend to finish too late, so On The Brinck Promotions have arranged family friendly performances scheduled for Sunday afternoons."

The Vivienne, who is the first winner of Drag Race UK, will perform at the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels, on Sunday March 22 and Baga Chipz will perform at the Memorial Hall, Innerleithen on Sunday, March 1.

Both events will be hosted by Lourde Godd, the resident Drag host for events at Hemelvaart Bier Café, Ayton, and who hosted the first Drag Race Party on Saturday, January 11.

Phil added: "There will also be live music at these shows as well as performances from other queens, notably Layla Sphynx who wowed crowds in Innerleithen in January and will be performing on March 1 with Baga Chipz.

"These are great opportunities for youngsters to meet their heroines and learn the secrets of the art of being a drag queen: and art form it most certainly is."

Each performance will begin at 2pm and is open to families with children of all ages, with all under 16s needing to be accompanied by an adult.

Four ticket types are available for both events. Under 12s tickets are £10, VIP meet and greet tickets are £25, seated balcony tickets are £20, and standing tickets are £15.

All tickets can be purchased through the On the Brinck website at https://on-the-brinck.square.site/
