AN APPEAL for information has been launched by officers in the Scottish Borders after a case of vandalism in Hawick.
The incident took place around 8.30pm yesterday (Thursday, October 6) in Burnfoot Road.
A stone was thrown at a bus, which was stationary at the time, breaking a window.
No one was injured, but the bus was unable to continue on it's route as a result.
The total cost to repair the damage is estimated to be a four-figure sum. Officers in the area are looking to trace approximately six youths seen in the area at the time.
The group included girls and boys, who all were believed to be in their early teens.
Anyone with information about this is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
