A SERIES of roadworks are set to be put in place on the A7 trunk road between Hawick and Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway.

Resurfacing work will take place from 8pm to 6am, each night, from Monday, October 17 to Thursday, October 20 on the A7 at Hoghill, Linhope and South of Ewes.

The road will re-open as normal outwith the timing of these works.
Drainage improvement work will then take place on the A7 at Linhope from 8am to 6pm - both days - on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23.

These schemes require a full carriageway closure between the North Bridge roundabout at Hawick and the junction with B720 north of Canonbie.
A signed diversion route will be in operation while all of these schemes are taking place.

Southbound traffic will be diverted off the A7 at North Bridge roundabout in Hawick, taking the second exit to Mart Street and then travelling via the A698 Weensland Road to the junction with the A6088.

From here, traffic will follow the A6088 to the south of Bonchester Bridge and join the B6357 to Canonbie; before travelling via the B7201 to re-join the A7 just north of the Scottish/English Border.
