POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man who has gone missing from Jedburgh.

Wiiliam Notely hasn't been seen since leaving his home in Bongate Gardens at 5.15am on Tuesday.

And friends and family are becoming increasingly concerned for the 58-year-old.

A spokeswoman told us: "William sometimes sleeps outdoors or in remote farm buildings and barns and has been known to travel on public transport around the Jedburgh area."

He is described as white, with a slim build and around 5ft 6 inches tall. He has receding brown hair and talks with an English accent.

William is believed to be wearing blue jeans, a yellow polo shirt under a khaki green jumper and a grey hooded top and black Sketcher trainers.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.
