POLICE are trying to track down a serial window smasher in Selkirk.
The town's community policeman, Conal McEwan, believes the same person or group are behind a series of broken windows over the past couple of months.
And he also claims he is closing in on catching them.
PC McEwan said: "I do believe the same ones are responsible for this recent spate.
"There is a common theme and I've made some progress with investigations."
A flat window was smashed in Buccleuch Road on the evening of Thursday, January 4.
At around the same time of 7.30pm on Monday, January 15 a house on The Loan was targetted.
And during the evening of Sunday, January 28 a window was smashed at the town centre Bank of Scotland branch.
The rear windscreen of a car in the Market Place car park was also smashed on the evening of Thursday, January 25.
And more recently a pensioner's window on Curror Street was smashed on the evening of Tuesday, February 6.
