A BABY has been born on board a CalMac ferry, the firm has announced as it welcomed its “youngest ever passenger”.
The 7:15am service from Rothesay on the Isle of Bute to Wemyss Bay, north of Largs, welcomed the arrival of the baby girl on April 26.
CalMac said the parents were keeping other details about the birth private.

The firm posted on Twitter: “We are delighted at the news of a very special delivery on board MV Argyle in Wemyss Bay this morning – a baby girl!
“Our warmest wishes and congratulations to the parents, and to our youngest ever passenger.”
