Second question, surely Scottish Borders Council has more than enough groups and committees, so why are you forming another group - namely Waste Disposal Group - consisting of five councillors, and probably council staff?

Scottish Borders Council, with a population of 112,000, has 48 groups and committees. Compare that to Fife Council, which has a population of 372,000 and has only 24 groups and committees.

In my opinion, if SBC councillors spend less time on groups and committees and more time doing the job they were elected to do - that is representing the people who elected them - then maybe just maybe we could get our towns back into a fit state, like they were under the watch of Town Councils and Town Councillors. Makes sense, does it not?

I am, etc.
