MEMBERS of the Scottish Youth Theatre ran a drama workshop in the Academy Hall on Thursday, November 5.
The visit was organised by Kath Mansfield, of the English Department. Participants included Ms Mansfield’s Drama class, and members of the Advanced Higher English class.
Workshop activities were based on Mary Queen of Scots got her head chopped off, a play by Liz Lochhead.
The workshop lasted two hours, and those involved found it great fun. Jack Templeton, a member of the Advanced Higher English class, enjoyed ‘being pushed out of his comfort zone.’ Amilia Divito, of the Drama class, though it was ‘brilliant!’
It has been a full week for drama enthusiasts. On Monday, a large group of senior pupils attended the National Theatre ‘Live’ showing of Hamlet at the Pavilion Cinema, with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role. The trip, for pupils in the Higher and Advanced Higher English classes, was organised by Sophie Mitchell.
