Veterans, and a few youngsters, from Gala Hotspur and the former Gala Rovers took part in the match on the 3G.
Ian’s son, Raymond, who is one of the region’s best known referees pulled on the goalkeeper’s jersey for Gala Hotspur.
Despite letting in four goals - two for Jamie Collins, and one each for Des Sutherland and Paul Hossack - Raymond was delighted with the fundraising day in memory of his father.
After presenting the Ian Hume Memorial Trophy to Rovers captain Bryan Templeton, Raymond told us: “The overall winner will be the charity, Parkinson’s Disease UK Borders Branch.
“I am overwhelmed by the turn out from both the players and the people who came to support a fantastic effort.” Since the memorial match started three years ago it has raised over £700 for Parkinson’s.
