A BRILLIANT weekend of Downhill Mountain biking at Ae Forest in Dumfries and Galloway saw three local riders dominate the podium in the Junior category at the Scottish Championships: Frazer McCubbing (Ae Village) finished first, with Calum McGee, from Gordon, second; and Angus Hardie, Melrose, third.
All are students at Borders College in Galashiels attending the Borders Academy of Sporting Excellence for Downhill Mountain biking.
In addition, Rebecca Kennedy, Earlston, took second place in the senior women's category.
Coach Ruaridh Cunnngham, from Stow, took the title in the Elite category with Reece Wilson (Innerleithen) in fourth place ensuring that the Scottish Borders is producing top class riders.
