SELKIRK have swooped to sign former Berwick Rangers and Livingston playmaker Ross Gray.

Despite making 30 appearances for Berwick last season the 22-year-old was released by manager Colin Cameron.

But another of his former managers, Steve Forrest, talked the Edinburgh-based player into coming to Yarrow Park.

Steve told us: “I worked with Ross at Cowdenbeath when he was a boy and know what a good player he is.

“He is a great addition to the squad and I hope to have another one or two players of his quality joining him over the next week or two.” Another former Cowdenbeath youngster is also heading to Yarrow Park after agreeing terms last week.

Pacy striker Lewis Page also enjoyed a spell at Hibernian’s youth teams.

Defenders Kayde Reynolds from North Berwick also put pen to paper, as did former Dunfermline Under 20s defender Stewart Thomson.

Forrest added: “We now have 15 players signed and I feel I need four more to have a squad capable of doing well in the Lowland League.

“Last season started well but was ultimately disappointing - we won’t be making the same mistakes this time.”
