FAIRYDEAN Rovers manager Steven Noble believes he has a fortnight to rebuild his team's confidence ahead of welcoming Fraserburgh to Netherdale for the Scottish Cup.
The Gala gaffer is still recovering from the aftermath of his side's 7-1 destruction by neighbours Selkirk on Saturday.
But he believes wins over Preston Athletic on Saturday and then victory over Heston Rovers in the South Cup the following week will set his side up for their Scottish Cup first round clash.
Noble said: "I know Fraserburgh are a good team - they have enjoyed good runs in the Scottish Cup in the past and will come down to Gala looking for a win.
"Right now we need to concentrate on our own game and start playing the kind of football we are capable of.
"Everyone at the club needs a lift after the Selkirk match and wins between now and the Scottish Cup will do that."
Fraserburgh have won four and drawn two of their opening six Highland League games this season.
But Mark Cowie's team haven't faired so well in the domestic cup competitions - already losing three ties.
Linlithgow Rose, who beat the Fairydean Rovers 2-0 in last season's first round, will return to the Borders after being drawn against Selkirk.
The East Super League side reached last year's fifth round, where they were defeated 4-2 by Premier League side Ross County.
David McGlyn's side currently sit fifth in the table, having won four of their opening six matches.
Selkirk chairman Ross Anderson admits Rose will arrive at Yarrow Park as hot favourites. He said: "They are probably the toughest team in the first round draw but we are at home, which is a bonus.
"They will come here expecting to beat us but we have the players that can cause them problems. It will be difficult but don't write us off."
Vale of Leithen have also been handed a tough first round draw as they travel to face unbeaten Lowland League leaders East Kilbride.
But manager Chris Anderson hopes the experience of former Spartans giant-killers such as Kevin Motion, Keith McLeod and Danny O'Donnell will help his team cause an upset at K Park.
Chris said: "East Kilbride are certainly a challenge but we'll go there and give it our best shot.
"We have a few players who have enjoyed runs in the Scottish Cup over the years and we will be looking to them to use all their experience against East Kilbride.
"I would have preferred a home draw and probably an easier team but we're not going to be pushovers."
Hawick Royal Albert are also on the road - albeit to a ground where they won 5-0 last month.
Dean Shanks' team face Civil Service Strollers at Muirhouse.
Albert secretary Dougie Purves is happy with the draw. He added: "It could have been a lot worse. Ideally you want a home draw but we are against a team that we've already beaten this season. This will be really difficult - Civil will fancy their chances - but we have a chance.
"We will hopefully take a good support through with us."
The Scottish Cup first round matches will be played on Saturday, September 24.
