Gala ASC The Border Regional Swimming Committee (BRSC) held the third and final round of the Border League on Sunday.

Held at Galashiels Swimming Pool the six Borders clubs converged to battle it out for the honours and with many clubs still in the running it was, as they say, game on. Each club as always brought a large and vocal support to cheers on their swimmers and once the competition got underway there was plenty to cheers about. Sporting their new Team Tops (Courtesy of Aldi), Gala ASC fielded a 23-man team and with some swimmers having to “Swim Up” in certain age groups the coaching team looked on with a certain amount of trepidation.

However, any nerves they might have had were soon dispelled as the Gala Team put on a great show of swimming and were soon notching up the PBs and all-important points for the club.

When the dust or water settled, and the points were totalled up Gala emerged victorious claiming the Girls 12 & Under title, the Intermediate title and were crowned overall IM Champions for 2018.

A fantastic result and one which had head coach, Jenny Adams, reaching for the Champagne.

Gala Team: Holly, Lucy and Anna D’Agrosa, Erin and Darcie Liddle, Orla and Liam Johnstone, Maili and Una Brown, Archie MacDonell, Andrew Watt, Layla Whitson, Amy Owenson, Arran Little, Katie Doyle, Jake Shepherd, Peter Forrest, Laura Frizzel, Finlay Thomson, Henry Grant, Ewan Dickson, Mhari Duncan and Isla Patterson.

Gala ASC would like to say a huge thanks to Jenny Adams and Aurel D’Agrosa for looking after the Gala swimmers on poolside - a big well done to everyone.
