THE Scottish Cup’s at Netherdale this weekend - and there's a day-full of fun to be had for all the family.

The oldest national football trophy in the world will be in Galashiels tomorrow as Gala Fairydean Rovers kick off their Scottish Cup campaign with a home tie against Highland League side Lossiemouth.

The Scottish FA and sponsors William Hill have chosen the game at Netherdale as the “tie of the round” and the Scottish Cup will make the journey south from Hampden for supporters to grab the chance of a photograph with the famous old trophy.

The Scottish Cup official mascot “Scotty” will also be in attendance at a special family friendly “Fanzone” set up in the ground that will include bouncy castles and facepainting.

There will be no charge for children on the day and paying adults will receive vouchers allowing them free entry into a future Gala Fairydean Rovers Lowland League game.

Supporters will also get the chance to win two Cup Final tickets in the half-time draw Chairman of the Fairydean Rovers Kevin Temple told us: "This is a fantastic honour for us to be chosen as tie of the round and it gives football fans in the Borders a unique opportunity to get their photo taken with the Scottish Cup.

"We hope as many people will come along as possible to cheer on the team in what we are sure will be a day to remember.”

The match kicks off at 3pm and gates to the Fanzone and to see The Scottish Cup open at 2pm at The 3G Arena, Netherdale Galashiels - Adult tickets are £8, Concessions £4 and accompanied children are free.
