IT was goals galore in the Border Amateur League with the net being hit 90 times across 13 games.
A total of 12 goals were scored at Comrades Park as Chirnside United defeated Stow 7-5 in Border Cup quarter final.
Jordan Steele’s hat-trick for Stow was to no avail as United aim to reclaim the cup they last won two years ago.
Gala Hotspur secured a fine extra time win over Gordon, with Duncan Kemp scoring a late winner and new signing Michael Louth producing a man of the match showing.
Spurs coach Fred Blackie said: “Fantastic team display but special mention to Michael who after only one week of training ran himself into the ground.”
Hawick Waverley came from behind to defeat Greenlaw 3-1 with Taylor and Davis Hope among the scorers while Jed Legion knocked out Hawick United.
Langholm Legion moved up to second in Division A as Ali and Jake Little and Scott Collins found the net in a 3-2 win at Tweeddale Rovers.
Kieran Swinney, Ross Hutchison and Sean Spoor scored for Duns as they beat Hawick Legion 3-1 in a top of the table clash in Division B.
Andrew Crawford scored a hat-trick as Newtown hammered Coldstream Amateurs 6-0, as did Fin Muir as Leithen Rovers beat Berwick Colts 5-0.
There were also Division B wins for Biggar United and Tweedmouth Amateurs.
Despite William Mercer’s treble for Selkirk Victoria, the Souters went down 6-4 to Ancrum in Division C, while Gala Fairydean Rovers and St Boswells enjoyed comfortable wins.
Gala Thistle, though, have pulled out of the Border Amateur League after struggling to attract players.
