FITNESS fanatics Rachael MacDonald and Kristie Waugh are flying the flag for the Borders after finishing runners-up at the recent Castle Games in Middlesbrough.
The Crossfit competitors were representing the RDA gymnasium in Tweedbank.
And, along with three other pairs from RDAS, were up against duos from across Europe.
Kenny Gibson and Mark McCall, Tracey Wade and Jill Robertson, and Michaela White and Sarah Bruce all performed extremely well throughout the Sunday.
But following the partner deadlifts, pull ups, running, sandbag movements, burpees and dumbbell snatches it was Rachael and Kirstie who were invited onto the podium, having finished second overall.
Neil Davidson from RDAS told us: "All of our teams finished in respectable positions in their respective categories.
"Rachael and Kristie however got an amazing podium place with second overall."
Later this month several teams of three from the Tweedbank gym will compete for qualification in The Celtic Cup, which takes place in Dublin next January.
