THE Scottish Football Association is investigating a mass brawl at the end of a football match in the Borders on Saturday that saw eight players red carded.
Peebles Rovers had just taken an injury time lead against Easthouses Lily in the East of Scotland Conference A clash when trouble erupted following a late tackle.
Sources at the game describe 'a running battle between players and supporters' in front of the Whitestone Park stand.
Reports state that referee Boise Allan brandished five red cards to Lilly players and three to the home team.
SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte has been sent the referee’s report and will decide whether further disciplinary action is to be imposed against either club.
A spokesman at Hampden declined to comment before the outcome of the case is determined.
